8:30 am – 12:30 pm (M-F)

Kindergarten – 6th Grade:

8:30 am – 3:00 pm (M-Th);

8:30 am – 12:30 pm (F)

Before-school and after-school care is offered for Elementary students at an additional cost.

Kindergarten Overview

Kindergarten is a full-day academic program for older five year olds and six year olds. The program develops the spiritual, academic, physical and social needs of our children. Throughout the day, children have opportunities to participate in many activities which are designed to foster grow and strengthen these four critical areas. A strong phonics-based program uses ABEKA to prepare students with word attack skills; sight words are also introduced. Children are taught manuscript handwriting, and they are introduced to sentence structure. The math curriculum uses Scott Foresman, and incorporates many hands-on math activities. Student’s receive daily instruction in Bible (ACSI), and there is weekly scripture memorization. Social studies and science are taught from a Biblical perspective using engaging explorative activities. Children entering Kindergarten at SVCS are screened through Chauncey/Bruce for readiness during the spring before they enter the program.
