High School Student Profile
The SOAR High School program meets the needs of many different learners at SVCS. SOAR students actively engage in all areas of co-curricular activities as well. Students participate in a variety of sports, including varsity football, and boys and girls basketball, swimming and track. Students also take part in the arts, both on and off campus, including dance and theater. Others are involved in advanced computer graphics and design.
More than half of the High School students in SOAR have made Honor Roll at SVCS. Many have also been recognized for outstanding effort and improvement by their mainstream teachers at biannual awards ceremonies.
In 2007, a SOAR student became the first to graduate from the SVCS High School. She was accepted at four different universities, and is now attending Cal Baptist University.
The learning needs of SOAR students include dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, processing and memory retrieval issues, brain injury, autism, epilepsy, and a limited group of students with low cognitive ability.
