As if Lori Jensen’s resume wasn’t already impressive enough, she has just added another accomplishment to it. Recently, Mrs. Jensen, SVC Elementary & Jr. High Principal, was invited by the California Department of Education to serve as a panel member for a local consultation discussion regarding private school educators and administrators.
“I am a big believer in professional development,” said Mrs. Jensen. It’s one of the best ways to ensure that educators continue to strengthen their knowledge base and stay on top of cutting-edge educational methods and trends. So it’s a privilege for me to engage in the conversation about how professional development can be maximized within the private school sector.”
Mrs. Jensen was part of a panel that met with staff from the California Department of Education during one the recent regional meetings. The topics they address are varied, but a sampling of key questions they seek to help answer are:
What are some subject areas/topics for which you would like to see more professional development offerings for private school educators and administrators in California?
In what ways can the California Department of Education (CDE) improve their modes of communication with private school educators and administrators in order to reach a larger audience?
How can online webinars and webinar series be more effectively leveraged?
“Lori is the consummate educator,” said Erick Streelman, SVC Head of School. “Her expertise is a huge asset — not only to our school, but to private schools across the region. The California Department of Education was wise to solicit her input for their private school professional development initiative.”
